Autumn vibes of Trentino-South Tyrol

Enjoy the golden Foliage

As summer fades into memory, the gentle voice of autumn awakens the landscapes of Trentino– South Tyrol. Each path in the nature in this season invites you to pause and absorb.
On your next Viaggiare Bene itinerary, we invite you to explore this season of transformation — a time when foliage glows, and the air grows crisp with the scent of ripe grapes, apples, chestnuts.
Where can we enjoy the most beautiful foliage in the Dolomites?
Among the most enchanting sights is Lago di Carezza, a jewel of emerald and sapphire tones, glowing beneath the Latemar peaks like a painter’s palette of autumn hues.
The Val di Non, meanwhile, enchants with its tranquil alpine lakes — from the vivid green waters of Lago di Tovel to the smaller hidden lakes that rest among chestnut groves and apple orchards. Here, every reflection captures the poetry of the season.

Vineyards, Valleys & the Tradition of Törggelen

In autumn, the harvest season in Trentino- South Tyrol is an open celebration of nature’s gifts inviting you to taste and savour. In Mezzocorona the landscape tells the story of the vine itself. A visit here in autumn means walking or cycling among vineyards lit by golden light, meeting the growers, and tasting wines that embody centuries of craftsmanship.
Beyond its beauty, autumn here is a sensory experience: the scent of wood smoke, the crackle of roasting chestnuts, the bittersweet pleasure of the first new wine. Across the region, chestnut festivals and harvest fairs bring communities together, honouring traditions that connect land and people.
When the vineyards glow copper under the afternoon sun, it’s also time for one of South Tyrol’s most authentic rituals: Törggelen. In the valleys around Schenna and Bressanone, farm taverns open their doors after the harvest, serving new wine, roasted chestnuts, speck, Schlutzkrapfen, sauerkraut — and above all, a sense of warm conviviality.
