HISTORY, ART, TRADITIONS AND LIFESTYLE IN SICILY
Day 1: arrival in Palermo
Day 2: FD guided tour of Palermo and Monreale, in the afternoon free time at Mondello beach.
Day 3: Today we visit Cefalù – a charming medieval town with its stunning Norman Dome. Arrival to Milazzo. Free time.
Day 4: a FD boat trip to the islands of Lipari and Vulcano. Lipari, the biggest island of the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands. Let’s explore it’s Belvedere and its historical centre. Proceed by boat to Vulcano Island: the views of active Vulcano are impressive, as the black sands of this mysterious Island.
Day 5. Catania HD tour with a visit to its famous fish market. In the afternoon a guided tour in Taormina.
Taormina is one of the most exclusive locations
of Sicily: with the guide we’ll visit this village and its famous Greek theatre.
Day 5. Today we reach in bus Etna – the highest European active volcano (ascent up to 1900 meters in the vicinity of the sylvan craters, with an optional possibility to continue by an off-road vehicle up to the craters placed at 3000
meters of altitude).
Day 6. Today we proceed for Syracuse and we visit with the guide the Archaeological Park Neapolis, which hosts one of the major theatres
of the Hellenic world. We continue to the island
of Ortigia, historical centre and heart of Syracuse.
We continue to Noto for a guided tour between
churches, convents and palaces of nobles of the capital of the Sicilian Baroque.
Day 7: We dedicate the morning discovering Ragusa Ibla, the historic centre of Ragusa (UNESCO). We walk among the scenic streets we visit the garden Ibleo. Later there we move to Ragusa Superiore, with his monumental works and the breath-taking panorama on the historic centre of Ibla. After lunch we continue for Modica, a treasure trove of many treasures of architecture baroque. Here we stop for a tasting of one of the more products famous and acclaimed by Modica: chocolate.
Afterwards we reach Piazza Armerina Piazza Armerina to visit the famous mosaic floors of Villa del Casale.
Day 8: In the morning we visit with a guide the archaeological park of Argigento. Then we’ll make a stop for a scenic walk on the Turkish Scales – Scala dei Turchi and head to Marsala with its salt flats. Free time for aperitivo by the salt flats.
Day 9: departure from Palermo
